Tarot readings are a great way to have some fun with your friends or just to get a little insight into your life. You don’t need any special equipment, which means you can do it right at home with the kitchen table though you can acquire more information at southernmarylandchronicle.com. There are many different questions you can ask and many different ways of reading the cards, so this page is just a general outline of some common methods of doing a tarot reading:
Drawing Cards from the Tarot Deck
The first thing you will want to do is shuffle your deck. Draw seven cards for yourself – never more and never less – and lay them out in front of you.
Now, lay the cards in a line or a circle (depending on the layout you are using) so that you are looking at them right side up. The first card is called the significator and represents whatever it is you want help with. Be very careful when dealing out your cards so that they don’t get mixed up. A beginner’s guide is here https://www.homebuckets.org/ to tarot card reading.
The next card is called the past position and shows what has happened in your question’s past; this card will probably be of lower value than the significator. The third card is called the present position, and it shows where you are now at in regard to your question; this usually your highest-value card. The fourth card is called the future position, and it shows what will happen in your case in the future; this card is also usually your highest-value card.
After you have all four cards drawn, you will take each of them and place them on the corresponding question. For example, if your question is “Should our new hire be fired?” then you would:
Significator = Quizubian (your question); Past Position = Aces (a bad thing has happened to you); Present Position = 2 of Cups (things are going well for you now but there could be trouble ahead); Future Position = Empress (things are about to get better).
There are a few different ways you can read a set of cards, so here are some different methods:
Terry’s Spread
Your significator should be the middle card. Now, go around the circle and examine the other three cards. If they are reversed (like the Queens), then you know that this is a question of love or relationships; if they are reversed twice, then it is a question of money or finances; and if they are reversed three times, this is a question of health or sickness.
